How Dance Walking Has Changed My Photography
I didn't expect dance walking to change my photography — but it has, profoundly.
Getting outside every day has reconnected me to light in a way I had forgotten. When you slow down enough to really see — the way morning light filters through the trees, the way clouds shift the shadows — your eyes wake up. I arrive to every shoot more visually alive and aware than ever before.
There's also something about getting the blood pumping that unlocks something creative. I come home from a dance walk inspired, full of ideas, ready to create. It's become my moving meditation and my creative fuel all at once.
But honestly? The physical transformation has surprised me most. I used to finish shooting events completely depleted — sore back, tight shoulders, feeling every bit of my age. Now I'm stronger than I've ever been. My core is solid, my shoulders are open, and the weight loss has made me lighter on my feet during long shoots. I recover faster and I feel good doing the work I love.
Dance walking didn't just change my health. It changed the way I see the world — and that shows up in every single image I take.
